The People Behind the Pins
Our name, Corkboard Communications, is inspired by the classic communications tool that has helped people share messages and build community for millennia. From public bulletins in ancient Rome and sealing Egyptian scrolls, to creative vision boards and coffee shop announcements, cork has long been used to share information and make connections.
That same spirit underpins our work. We help organizations pinpoint their message, communicate with purpose, and create real connections with the people who matter most.
Founded by longtime collaborators Leigh Picchetti and Margaret Fogarty, Corkboard blends big agency insight with a nimble, personal approach. We draw on decades of experience in traditional media, paired with a keen sense of how to navigate today’s fast-moving, fragmented, AI-driven communications landscape.
Our story starts in Iowa, where Leigh and Margaret met in high school, attended the University of Iowa and became colleagues in Denver. From boutique firms to Fortune 500 corporate communications teams, they’ve led award-winning initiatives across sectors including agriculture, cleantech, healthcare, financial services, telecom and technology.
Together, they’ve built teams, launched brands and guided clients through moments of high visibility and high stakes.
